Terms of Service

1. Beta Service

Segno is currently an invite-only beta product intended for testing and feedback purposes.

The service may:

• change frequently,
• contain bugs or inaccuracies,
• experience downtime,
• or be modified or discontinued at any time without notice.

You understand that Segno is provided on an experimental basis during the beta period.

2. Eligibility

You must:

• be at least 18 years old, and
• have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.

Segno is not intended for children or minors.

3. User Accounts

You may create an account using an email address.

You are responsible for:

• maintaining the security of your account,
• safeguarding your login credentials,
• and all activity that occurs under your account.

You may not:

• impersonate another person,
• attempt unauthorized access to the service,
• interfere with the operation of Segno,
• or use Segno for unlawful purposes.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of audio recordings and other content you upload to Segno (“User Content”).

By uploading content, you grant Segno a limited license to:

• store,
• process,
• transcribe,
• segment,
• analyze,
• and display your content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the service.

You represent that:

• you have the right to upload the content,
• and your uploads do not violate applicable laws or third-party rights.

5. AI Processing

Segno uses third-party AI and transcription providers to process uploaded recordings and generate transcripts, lesson segmentation, and related outputs.

Generated outputs may:

• contain inaccuracies,
• omit information,
• or produce incorrect results.

You should not rely on Segno for professional, medical, legal, or educational certification purposes.

6. Deletion of Content

Users may delete uploaded lessons and associated content from within the application.

Deleted content may remain in secure backups or system logs for a limited retention period before permanent deletion.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Segno to:

• upload unlawful or infringing material,
• upload malicious software or harmful content,
• attempt to reverse engineer or disrupt the service,
• scrape or automate access without permission,
• or use the service in a way that could harm Segno or other users.

8. Intellectual Property

The Segno platform, including its software, branding, design, and generated interfaces, is owned by Segno and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

These Terms do not grant you ownership of the Segno service itself.

9. No Warranty

Segno is provided “as is” and “as available”.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including:

• merchantability,
• fitness for a particular purpose,
• availability,
• accuracy,
• and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Segno shall not be liable for:

• indirect damages,
• lost data,
• lost profits,
• business interruption,
• or consequential damages arising from use of the service.

Your use of Segno is at your own risk.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to Segno at any time, including for:

• violations of these Terms,
• abuse of the platform,
• or operational or legal reasons.

You may stop using the service at any time.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Continued use of Segno after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
